Instructions

You are entering Lasseters Easter in the Alice stage race.  This incorporates the MTBA National XCM Series Round 3 race on Day 1 (we are awaiting MTBA confirmation of the XCM rounds for 2018).  This race is a 3 day, 3 stage race using the best of the amazing Alice Springs track network.  All details can be found on the event web site www.easterinthealice.com.

The Big Bunny, Easter Mini or a single stage?

You have three options in entering, the full stage race, Easter Mini or ride a single stage.  Easter Mini has shorter stages each day for those riders who would like an introduction to stage racing.  Easter Mini stages are approximately 20 km each day and take easier tracks than the full stage race.  This is perfect for people who want an easier riding experience or who are new to the whole mountain bike racing thing.

You may start any or all of the stages.  You may start the next stage if you DNF the stage before but will no longer be eligible for an overall placing.

All riders must have a bike in good working order, an Australian Standards approved helmet, a first aid kit and suitable spare parts and tools to enable you to complete each stage.  We encourage all riders to carry a phone.

All riders are to start each stage with adequate water/fluid to reach drink stops or the finish line.  Note that central Australia can be very hot at any time of the year and you will drink a lot more water than usual.

Riders involved in a crash are advised to contact the race director for assistance if needed. If you come across a rider in distress, help them. Those finishing a stage after a crash are advised to report to sports medicine once finishing before leaving the finish area.

Stage 1 Start time will be 7 am.  75/58 km, 800 m climb, course record 3.:22:44, Brendan Johnston, 4:13:10 Jenny Blair.
Stage 2 Start time will be 7 am, 25 km, 300 m climb, course record 1:09:29, Brendan Johnston, 1:24:43 Jenny Blair.
Stage 3  Start time will be 7 am, 37 km, 300 m climb, course record 1:23:19, Brendan Johnston, 1:38:01 Jenny Blair.
Start times can be adjusted at the race director's discretion.

Elite classes will ride 75 km in Stage 1 (the XCM).  All other classes will ride 58 km in Stage 1 (the XCM).  Both courses had a winning time of about 3 hours and 30 minutes last year, with the average riders taking about 4 hours and 30 minutes.

Riders must sign on before starting each stage and sign off at the completion of each stage at the respective start and finish lines.

If a rider is unable to complete a stage they must contact race control immediately.

Presentations are held at the Juicy Rump bar and restaurant at Lasseters Hotel each evening at  6 pm.
